Home

Welcome to the website of The Toy Café, situated in Newcastle upon Tyne we are an out of school service that believes in widening horizons through play. Our focus is on creating a facility where parents from the local community can interact with each other whilst their children enjoy the company of other kids and the facilities we have to offer. All members of staff are fully qualified and insured which means that a high level of professionalism goes into every aspect of our work.

The Toy Café was formed out of the desire to provide activity sessions for out of school clubs, we were originally operating twice a week out of St. Matthew’s church hall.

Our key focus is the care of the kids and the building of relationships in order that families can create a better learning environment for their children. We host some activities in-house, and work closely with other partners to benefit families in the wider community. Due to this we provide the three following services:

Parent and toddler group

Every Wednesday morning from 9.30am – 11.30am we have a traditional Toddler group, where parents can meet over a cuppa and biscuits, whilst the children play with the wide selection of toys on offer and explore our extensive soft play area.

Family club

After school on a Wednesday parents are invited to come along with their children and engage in a wide range of activities as a family. Parents are required to be involved in some way, either with organizing the group or simply by playing with the children and having some quality chill out time! The group runs from 3.15pm to 5.15pm and is open to families attending any school as long as they can get here before we close. Admission fee is £1 per child

Children's Parties

The hall and soft play area are available for children’s parties, at a cost
of £45.00 for a 3 hour booking (to include time for preparation
and cleaning).

Bookings are welcomed for Saturday afternoons or after school.

We are open Monday – Thursday, 9am – 5pm or appointments
can be made to see us outside of these times.

To arrange a booking for a party contact Bev or Richard on 0191
